web-link training

The Professional Development Team offers free training on managing and updating course data and applicant data through web-link. Whether you are new to your job or would just benefit from a refresher, a web-link workshop will help.

The workshop helps HE staff to gain a better understanding of the course and applicant areas of web-link. We'll explain how course and institution data is provided and subsequently used for publications and the UCAS website. And how to ensure such important data such as contact details, finance information and entry requirements are up-to-date. We'll then take you through the key principles of applicant data, including decision processing, running reports, and the latest policies and procedures.

The one-day workshop runs from 10:00 to 15:00 and includes lunch.

Who should attend?

  • Staff from UCAS member institutions who work in admissions, marketing and recruitment
  • Member of staff responsible for maintaining institution, course and/or applicant data
  • Technical staff who manage the institution's data electronically.

What does the workshop offer?

Training begins with refreshments and a session on maintaining course and institution data. We will explain how and where this data is used and how to navigate around the database. You will be able to ask questions and gain practical experience using a training environment.

Lunch is provided, after which we introduce the applicant data section. We'll cover all aspects of the applicant data screens including its navigation, decision-processing and downloading management reports. This is also an opportunity for a more interactive database session where you can get to know the system and ask any questions. There will be further refreshments before evaluations and departure.
